LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Those not in power are left wondering what is going to happen next. Where is the world heading? Is ISIS really going to attack our home next? What will happen if that does happen? What do we do?
In times of fear, it is important to remember that God is in control. Trust in God and your fear will fade.
Here are five bible verses to help when fear and terror strikes:
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
"God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea." Psalm 46: 1-2
"When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. 25 Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; 26 For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught." Proverbs 3:24-26
"So we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" Hebrews 13:6
"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28
