3 Biblical ways to achieve small victories in our Walk with God

Life struggles are inevitable but to look at them more than just a bump in the road is like putting rocks in your backpack before a hike. God doesn't want that - our journey to Him is meant to shape us in a way He planned for us. Little by little, we achieve victories during our individual journeys and we should celebrate them!

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Sometimes we lack the mind, heart and soul to recognize the small things we accomplish as children of God. Jesus Christ already sacrificed his life to save us from our earthly, mortal sins so there's no need for us not to celebrate our small victories as we live our lives and grow to be closer to Him.
Crosswalk.com's Whitney Hopler shared some of the simple ways we can find small victories throughout our faith journeys. Here are Catholic Online's top 3: 1. Replace negative thoughts with positive onesWhatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable --if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-- think about such things.
(Philippians 4:8)
There is something positive to be found in every situation. We need to learn to put away negative thoughts. It is the first step toward a simple victory over positive-living. Remember, keeping truth, noble thoughts, righteousness, purity, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy thoughts in our minds leaves no room for darkness to creep in.
Even if you struggle at first, remember it is said that habits take up to 90 days to form, and what better habit is there than easing stress and living life positively?
2. Treat everyone with kindness
Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart (Proverbs 3:3)
It is easy to be kind towards those who have shown you kindness, but to the difficult and seemingly "undeserving" people, it can prove to be quite difficult. Practicing kindness to everyone, regardless of whether or not they "deserve" it, is simple once we learn to be kind.
Kindness isn't selective, it is a condition of the heart. psychologists believe that giving someone you don't like a genuine smile can brighten your mood and you can engage them in a positive interaction. Treating everyone with the same kindness is a personal victory as we make our way toward God, who has always loved everyone, despite our actions, words and mindsets.
3. Make peace during stressful moments
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid (John 14:27)
Peace is achieved when we allow God to bring us peace. We reach another victory in faith when we keep calm and weather the storm. He doesn't tell us not to be concerned, He tells us to offer our troubles to Him and trust in His words. God promises us peace, so when you can't handle something on your own, turn to Him.
By glorifying God, we celebrate milestones we reach in our lives. Rather than putting rocks in our backpacks, we can use them to help pave the road way for others to find peace.
As you live in faith and celebrate small victories, you show others what can be achieved through a wonderful relationship with God. Remember to let go and turn to Him when you can't do it alone.
