Little girl looking Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you. Help Now >

A small town couple helps a struggling waitress when she needs it most

While protests are wreaking havoc all around the world, wars are being fought, and people are being brutally killed, the warm sensation and fuzzy feeling of Christmas gets overshadowed.

Highlights

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Although good deeds and random acts of kindness occur throughout the year, this season in particular is one noted for coming together as one, bringing joy to others and committing selfless acts.

Gary and Roxann Tackett, a sweet, generous couple from Arkansas, kept the true meaning of Christmas in their hearts when they surprised, Cindi Grady, a waitress from Branson, Missouri.

Commit a random act of kindness today

The Tacketts visited Cindi many times during the summer at the local Cracker Barrel, where she worked. Cindi's car wasn't in the best shape. According to Cindi, her car had been the victim to quite a few deer attacks and had become barely manageable. She had plans to replace the car when finances allotted.

Before Cindi could replace the car herself, the Tacketts felt it in their hearts to help the waitress out. They presented Cindi with a 2008 Ford Fusion as a Christmas gift.

"We've been watching you drive that car all summer," explained Gary Tackett to Cindi. "We decided that you needed something better. Merry Christmas."

Brought to her knees in overwhelming emotions, Cindi couldn't believe such people were still out there. For no reason, but to help a woman in need, the Tacketts changed Cindi's life forever.

"It restored my faith in humanity. There are good people in the world watching, that care," expressed Cindi. "And you might not even know them."

It doesn't have to be as extravagant as a car; any selfless act of kindness has the power to change a person's life forever.
