We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this
Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.Help Now >
ANOTHER insurer drops out of Obamacare as system continues to collapse

As Aetna pulls out of the Obamacare marketplace across most of the country, the moral failure of the Affordable Care Act becomes apparent. The ACA is neither affordable or sustainable. It is a complete failure that worsens with time.

LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The fastest way to make something expensive is to regulate it. This is what Obamacare has done. It regulates health insurance, then requires all people purchase it. This makes all healthcare expensive.
Healthcare is expensive for a reason. Our entire medical system is a for-profit system. Consumers are captive, and even with some competition between insurers, demand for healthcare is inelastic. Everybody needs it at some point. And the market will bear high prices because health is a vital commodity.
These are the reasons why Obamacare is a massive failure.
Aetna is leaving 11 of the 15 states where it offers coverage under the Affordable Care Act. About 80 percent of its customers will be affected.
Obamacare is supposed to make insurance affordable to all by taxing the rich and using those taxes to pay for the poor to have free or partially subsidized care, based on income. It mandates that all people become customers, this increasing the number of people paying into the system. And it hopes that as more people get insurance, they get healthier, this reducing demand on healthcare.
But this isn't what happened. In particular, as more people gained insurance coverage, they also increased their consumption of healthcare. It's unclear if people are becoming healthier, but they are certainly using their benefits. This has resulted in costs increasing. AT the same time, price controls by the government have caused insurers to lose money. Therefore, many insurers are leaving the market.
Obamacare is a failure on all fronts. It is a moral failure because it still leaves millions of people uninsured. It is a religious failure because it promotes abortion and abortifacients, and pays little to no regard for the rights of religious people. It is ina intrusion on personal freedom because it penalizes people for not buying insurance. It forces the poor to accept dependency on the government.
None of these flaws are secrets. They have been openly discussed since before the law was passed. The true aim of Obamacare is failure so the government can take over the industry entirely.
Be ready.
