We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Since 2011, at least 162 abortion mills have been shut down for good as abortionists complain that safety regulations and reduced demand are cutting into their business. Part of the success is due to popularly elected Republican legislators that with mandates to clean up the abortion industry.

Cases of women dying in abortion clinics, as well as other horror stories told by mothers and staff, have galvanized legislatures to order common sense safety measures for clinics. Abortionists have often balked at these measures and even sued on the claim that they are unconstitutional, but states do have the right to regulate their medical industries.

While there may be virtually nothing medical about abortion, abortionists insist on being considered medical providers, so they are subject to common sense healthcare laws.

The costs associated with compliance, along with an overall drop in demand for abortion, has caused nearly 200 clinics to close since 2011.

There may be other factors involved in reducing demand, including an overall decline in pregnancies due to family planning. Some of this family planning may be natural, but there is also the use of contraceptives, abortifacients and sterilizations, which are also significant moral wrongs.

While the media can be expected to decry the closing of these abortion mills, the fact is an untold number of children now have a chance at life due to reasonable changes made by state governments. In addition, an untold number of mothers have avoided scarring, both physical and emotional, from these developments.

Thank God, the trend remains positive.
