'They can't scream': Terrifying new revelation from mother and daughter who PERFORM genital mutilations on little girls
FREE Catholic Classes
Female genital mutilation has been outlawed in most countries, but in Nairobi, Kenya the practice remains ongoing. The gruesome "surgery" is done by "cutters," who work on African natives as well as young British girls who undergo the horrific procedure during their school breaks.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - A mother-daughter team described how they perform the mutilations to CNN's Nima Elbagir, who reported that young girls are tied and are not given anything for pain.
The "cutters," identified as Hawa and Fatima, revealed how they use razor blades and bottles of ethanol as girls are pinned down to a piece of plastic."We sit down the girl, someone blindfolds her and lays her on the ground, then we cut, we cut three times, then you put the [alcohol], you ... pour it on the wound. The [alcohol] is a bit painful but it stops the bleeding. We blindfold them and put hands over their mouths, they don't even scream because if they do, their age mates will despise them. So they hold it back and endure the pain, they can't make noise because of what other girls might think of them."
Hawa and Fatima went on to describe how wounds are cared for following the mutilations. "We clean up the wound every morning with the ethanol spirit, then after two weeks we untie [her] and see whether the wound is healed, and allow her to walk around the house a little bit.
"By the third week she should be fine but not to lots of activities, till it is one month and then she would be fine and good to go back to her daily routine."The mutilations, often simply called FGM, are performed on young women in hopes it will prevent promiscuity and will maintain a family's status. Welfare groups report over one million girls and women in Europe and North America have been affected by FGM.
Approximately 700,000 victims live in Europe, 140,0000 in the UK, and 100,000 in France. The United States houses 500,000 women who have either already undergone the procedure or who are in danger of being forced into the horrific surgery.
There are three ways to perform female genital mutilations: the partial or total removal of the clitoris, the partial or total removal of the clitoris and labia minora and the narrowing of the vaginal orifice.
When narrowing the opening to the vagina, the clitoris and labia are cut away with any sharp object, whether it be a glass shard, a knife, scissors or a razor blade. The labia stumps are then sewn together and a hole the size of a match head is left for urine to pass, which often leads to pain and recurring infections. This is an example of the most extreme form of FGM.
