Little girl looking Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you. Help Now >

1. Yellow patches around the eyes, nose and/or mouth: HIGH CHOLESTEROL

Xanthelasma, as it is medically called, is caused by the clogging of fatty acids on the blood vessels due to high cholesterol, usually around the eyes, nose and mouth. However, Dr. Emma Starritt explained it could also because of the irregularities on how fat in the blood is metabolized. Although the patches can be treated with a TCA skin peel, it is more important to cut down the consumption of high-cholesterol food.

2. Pale skin: IRON DEFICIENCY

Anemia happens when the blood has an insufficient amount of healthy red blood cells, which binds oxygen, causing the skin to appear more pale. Dr. Kellie Billinski, a dietician, recommends a person eats red meat, beans and green leafy vegetables to receive a sufficient amount of iron. Dr. Billinski also suggests to pair iron-rich foods with those packed with Vitamin C for better absorption.

3. Lower chin acne: PCOS

According to Dr. Starritt, one of the most common signs of polycystic ovarian syndrome is having lower chin acne. It is best to consult with your doctor for proper diagnosis.

4. Sags and deep wrinkles: BLOOD DEOXYGENATION

Smoking has to stop as blood is runs out of oxygen, preventing it from absorbing nutrients. Common symptoms are deep wrinkles and sagging due to collagen damage caused by blood deoxygenation.

Like they always say, if symptoms persist, it is best to consult your doctor for proper medication.
