We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Eric Hites decided it was time to make some major life changes.

To try to live a healthy life, get a job and save his failing marriage, a 560-pound man decided to embark on a biking journey across the United States. He has already traveled about 90 miles since he started last month and has lost around 60 pounds during the first two weeks. Although this is a personal mission, he hopes others will be inspired to follow through the pursuit of an active lifestyle for a more healthy life and relationships.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Eric Hites is turning 40 and has decided to shed his excess pounds and start a new healthy life with his wife; he shared that their marriage was starting to fail.

Hites has always been a big man, now wearing size 70 pants and a 10X T-shirt; when he graduated high school he weighed 300 pounds, but Hites claimed that he could run 5 miles without much dilemma.

He grew even bigger by drinking too much soda, with the lack of exercise during the time he worked as a disc jockey.

Since last week, Hites was in Tiverton, Rhode Island becasue of a bent rim on his bicycle. Rob Purdy, of Newport Bicycle, is going to supply Hites with a new set of wheels for a mountain bike that can support his weight and continue with him on his mission.

Purdy explained to the Daily News that he believes the journey is inspiring and for a good cause.

"I thought it would take four months, but I'm almost two months into it and I'm only in Rhode Island," stated Hites, admitting he thought the journey would be faster.
