The unidentified man sued the doctor and was awarded $500,000.

Instead of simply recording his doctor's post-operation instructions, as intended, a Virginian man accidentally recorded the anesthesiologist's verbal onslaught against him while he was asleep. Concealing his identity, the patient filed a lawsuit, including the doctor involved in his colonoscopy on April 18, 2013. Recently, he was awarded half a million dollars for damages.

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - "After five minutes of talking to you in pre-op, I wanted to punch you in the face and man you up a little bit," said Tiffany M. Ingham, the anesthesiologist, as heard over the obtained recording copy by The Washington Post.

Her thrashing words against the man did not stop there, she was even heard warning a medical assistant not to touch the patient's rashes, because she might incur "syphilis on the arm or something."

"It's probably tuberculosis in the penis, so you'll be all right," added Ingham, according to The Blaze.

The anesthesiologist reportedly mocked the man, calling him a "big wimp" and a "retard," according to USA Today. Ingham even made a "joke" pretending to fire a gun up to his rectum and threatened to put a false note that he had hemorrhoids on his chart. His Alma mater, the University of Washington, was also mocked by the anesthesiologist while he was still sedated.

Shocked and embarrassed, the unidentified man decided to sue Ingham and the other doctor; he was recently awarded $500,000 by the jury, despite her lawyers' argument that the recording wasn't legal.

According to reports, $50,000 was for the tuberculosis comment she made alone. However, Ingham was tied to the other $50,000 for telling the medical assistant not to touch him due to a probable syphilis infection.

Atty. Lee Berlik, a defamation law specialist, said that he hasn't encountered anything like the case against Ingham before.
