FREE Catholic Classes
When a man from Milwaukee was pronounced dead last week, everyone, from his girlfriend to his brother, was immediately notified. The first responders made all the necessary arrangements for the corpse to be transported to the morgue. While all the preparations were being made, the man started to move and breathe feebly. What happened in between the time that he was rushed to the hospital and declared dead to the time he came out of his deathly state?

MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - The 46-year-old man was unresponsive when his girlfriend tried to reach him. She became worried, since she was aware that the man was sick and going through a life-threatening medical condition.
She immediately called the police to have them check on him. When the officer arrived at his apartment, he found the victim collapsed on the edge of his bed, completely unresponsive.
The responding officer called the paramedics, and according to the city's local News 12, they found him already in rigor and his skin was cold. He was pronounced dead and soon on his way to the morgue.
However, a little later on he began to breathe and move his right leg, as well as his arm. The Milwaukee Fire Department responders called 911; while waiting, they checked the man for vitals and discovered that his heart was faintly beating.
With no sign of any drugs or alcohol in his system, the man was brought to Columbia-St. Mary's Hospital for further examination and treatment.
Based on a recent interview by News 12, his brother confirmed that the victim has been suffering from a serious thyroid problem. According to those who examined him, he went into a rare type of coma that caused his body temperate to drop to that of dead person. And because his jaw and his limbs stiffened, he was thought to be going through the process of rigor mortis.
As of today, the man is still in the hospital's Intensive Care for observation.
