We ask you, urgently: don’t scroll past this

Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. Our founders, now in their 70's, just gave their entire life savings to protect this mission. But fewer than 2% of readers donate. If everyone gave just $5, the cost of a coffee, we could rebuild stronger and keep Catholic education free for all. Stand with us in faith. Thank you.

Our collective prayers do make a difference

Probably many of the people reading this have sensed the presence of God in prayer. These things are subjective and hard to express. Yet, you can feel in the atmosphere when something changes when you pray.

span style="mso-bidi-font-family:Calibri;mso-bidi-theme-font: minor-latin">LOS ANGELES, CA - This is a story of a recent prayer meeting. Two of us were praying about both personal requests as well as national and international political requests. We have done this before. This time was different. A prayer came that was so powerful, even though we were on the phone, the effects were felt at each end of the phone line.

The prayer was in the tradition of the prayer to St. Michael. 'Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls'. Amen.

The prayer that spontaneously arose was similar.  Prayers were prayed. Scriptures were presented to the Lord as promises of his aid. And then a prayer came. 'Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.' Psalm 103:20  A prayer came that the angels would go forth in the name of Jesus to fulfill the promises of God that had been prayed.

We could feel that reading the scriptural promises and requesting the angels to go forth and fulfill God's word had such power that there was a shift in the atmosphere.
It was so powerful that I am convinced that this is something I need to regularly do, that I hadn't been doing but is something I need to add when I pray. 'Ye have not because ye ask not.'  James 4:2
