LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - The music world has lost another legend. Prince, has been found dead in his home in Minnesota. The singer was 57.
Prince has been ill recently, and told fans he was battling the flu. On April 15, his plane made an emergency landing in Illinois, allegedly for medical reasons. He performed at a concert on the 16th however to reassure fans he was alive and well.
This year's flu season has been exceptionally harsh with H1N1 swine flu dominant across the United States. A typical case lasts much longer than the normal flu. Commonly, a flu patient may recover within a week, but with the H1N1, many patients report taking three or even four weeks to recover.
Did Prince die as a result of complications from the flu? An autopsy will answer the question. It is also possible he could have been heavily medicated because of his illness. Police will also investigate his death to rule out foul play.
Prince Rogers Nelson joins several other famous entertainers who have died in 2016 including David Bowie and Merle Haggard.
