Little girl looking Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. '...my life changed forever.'

Though his presence received little media attention during Dancing with the Stars, Carlos PenaVega provided an emotional story that serves as inspiration to those seeking a light through the darkness.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Last Monday, famed show Dancing With the Stars was filled with tears and overwhelming emotion as each contestant shared their most memorable year.

Among the stories, PenaVega shared an inspiring tale about his conversion to Christianity in 2012. Within a week, he was rescued from a darkness that had slowly eating his life away despite his band's success.

"My band Big Time Rush - we were at the peak of our success. [But] when you get home, it's just you. The tour ended and I felt really alone," PenaVega admitted in a video package. He said life on tour was filled with excitement and parties but the loneliness was too much to bear.

He shared that he started locking himself inside him home to smoke weed "like every day," and refused to talk to anyone. "I really hit rock bottom," he said.

When he went to a friend for help, he was invited to church, which he accepted. He shared the decision changed everything.

"I walk in church and I know that I was supposed to be there. From that Sunday to the next Sunday, my life changed forever."

"On [a] Thursday I got invited to a Bible study and at the Bible study I met my wife," PenaVega recalled. His wife, Alexa, was another contestant on the show.

Tearful, the performer said he was still in awe at what happened that week in 2012 and decided to perform "Amazing Grace" to reminisce and commemorate the life-changing event. The song, he said, was one of the first songs he heard in Church.
