Dear readers, Catholic Online was de-platformed by Shopify for our pro-life beliefs. They shut down our Catholic Online, Catholic Online School, Prayer Candles, and Catholic Online Learning Resources—essential faith tools serving over 1.4 million students and millions of families worldwide. MUNTINLUPA CITY, PHILIPPINES (Catholic Online) - Having a close relationship with God can bring a person out of the most crucial and dark situations. Steve Harvey was once an unhappy person; he was a college dropout and homeless and lived inside his car for three years.
Harvey was able to find a formula of love and created a relationship with God that helped him overturn his entire situation.
Steve Harvey was a host on the popular game show, "Family Feud" and had his own talk show, the "Steve Harvey Show." The host, who is also a Christian, explained in an interview that meeting his third wife Marjorie Bridges was the turning point that had the most profound impact in his life. He noted he wasn't depressed, but he was simply "wasn't happy" with his life prior to meeting her.
He stated that his wife and God played a big role in changing his life.
"[Bridges] taught me a lot about myself. And then I found the inner joy and peace in myself and then changed my relationship with my creator," Harvey said. "I started talking to him more often. I figured he probably knew more about where I ought to go than I did. He started showing me some stuff, and she started showing me stuff."
Not too long after his decision to move on with his life towards a more positive light, he felt he was beginning to develop a new person inside of him.
"The real me was able to come out," he shared. "I turned into a guy that was trying to help a lot of people and trying to put a smile on a lot of peoples' face."
Harvey is no longer a stranger when it comes to talking to God. He places credit with the Almighty for his long prosperous career.
