In today's Gospel reading we find Jesus calling on some powerful imagery from Jonah and the tale of the Ninevites to call our attention to our need for repentance and conversion in this Lenten season. Not exactly the Teddy Bears and Fluffy Bunny Jesus that we so often make our Lord out to be but exactly the calling we need from Christ if we are to move from the shallow end of faith in to the deep waters where we can encounter our Lord in a deeper and richer way.
