Benedict XVI: Turkey to assure religious freedom

Christians and Muslims can together commit themselves to promoting human development, peace, justice, and life. The Holy Father reiterated this, speaking to the bishops of Turkey, at the end of their Ad Limina visit at the Vatican. Benedict XVI noted that even within a secular state, although with a Muslim majority, authorities should ensure the exercise of the freedom of worship and freedom of religion, and expressed his hope in this regard, for the work of a special bi-lateral commission.Benedict XVI also remembered Fr.
