    Dear Dr Hass:

Last time I ordered some Pope's Cologne, you enclosed a bottle of Innocente with it
--I have enjoyed it so much and I have been remiss in taking so long to tell you that, as I am only doing now.
Thank you very much indeed. And the gifts I have made of the Pope's Cologne have been must successful:
the last one was to a geographer friend who lives in his family house on Sant 'Elena in Venice,
where I visited him just three weeks ago for a couple of glorious days.
Now I think that next time I put in an order I'll try
Zizi--that piece about being sophisticated and playful: who could resist?

I do hope that you and your wife are well.

    And thank you,

    Best, Margaret

    Another customer offered this:
I wear this to Mass every Sunday. As others have already said,
it has a very pleasant smell–I’ve been complimented on it on
    more than a few occasions.

    And this interesting comment:
I received a bottle of this as a gift – it has a very pleasant scent, rather citrus-based.
I actually know a few bishops who wear this….

Will Keller of Monastery Greetings sent me this::
Thank you for your email and your interest in The Pope’s Cologne.
Monastery Greetings, based in Cleveland, Ohio, is a direct mail catalog and website
which offers a wide variety of monastery-related products – including many products made by abbeys,
    convents, monasteries and hermitages.
We do not make the cologne, but I think we sell more of it than anyone else.
The Pope’s Cologne was introduced in 2008 and continues to be one of our bestselling products.
In its first year, we sold more than 200 bottles and last year we sold more than 300 bottles.
I think it appeals to people (especially our audience which is primarily Roman Catholic) because
of its uniqueness among colognes and its connection to history.

    Comment from the United Kingdom:
Pace those who hold anti-Catholic sentiments, but I have recently purchased this and it's a delightful cologne.
I am extremely choosy and have worn the same cologne for over 20 years (Floris 'Elite'),
but had decided to get this as a gift for some friends.
I shall break the habit of a lifetime and wear it (occasionally - old habits die hard!) myself.
It has a wonderfully sophisticated fragrance and is unlikely to be worn by anybody within miles.

I have no connection with the company at all. After all, I'm in the UK and had to have it shipped.

    From an Italian priest:
    Dear Doctor Fred
I had received the prefumes: thank you for your thought and
    kindness.
I smelled "INNOCENTE" and I enjoyed it: I smelled " SEMPRE " and I thought of eternal beauty:
I smelled the POPE'S PERFUME" and i was thinking about my Boss.

Thinking about perfume I say to myself: Anyone who thinks chimical warfare as something new doesn't
know much about women' perfume. Your perfumes are not chimical perfume but
    expression of LOVE.
    VERY WELL DONE.

Thank you for sending my order so promptly - It arrived in the post today all in tact and the fragrance is divine!

I think I will indeed be ordering more as Christmas presents.

    Kind regards

I discovered this last year, after it was featured on the CBS Sunday Morning version of "60 Minutes".
It is clean and fresh and not overwhelming. Clean, lemony, leathery, and violety. And has a cool story, too.

    21. This cologne is very gentle and elegant, and has a kind of mild sweet orange smell.
I think Father Z you will like it. The only thing I dislike is that the bottle does not have the spray tube.

22.I wear this cologne almost everyday. It’s pleasant enough, and, according to the maker,
it lacks the scents associated with eroticism and romantic love, commonly found in normal colognes.
Allegedly, that’s why the Pope had this made.

The Pope's Cologne smells very much like the rather superior fragrance Apres L'Ondee by Guerlain

Comment from a Monk: ...you might be amused that I bought the first bottle to give to my Spiritual Director who was 85 years old and is a Benedictine Monk and and a Bishop. (He has been my S.D. For 40 years). The other monks could not work out where the fragrance came from and it caused much comment in the Abbey (favourable)!!!

This is one of the many compliments I have received:

    "I love this cologne!

It is so refreshing immediately yet subtle as the day progresses.

Plus, I don’t smell like every perfume counter around.

    Good luck with your project."
