A drunk driver hit and killed a pedestrian in Torrance on Saturday then drove with the dying victim in her windshield for at least two miles.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - According to the Torrance Police Department, Sherri Wilkins, 51, was drunk when she plowed into Phillip Moreno, 31 also of Torrance. Moreno became stuck in her windshield after the collision.

Shockingly, after striking Moreno, the woman continued driving for another two miles as Moreno suffered in her windshield.

Moreno died at a local hospital shortly thereafter.

Wilkins has been charged with manslaughter and drunk driving. Police say her blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. She claims she was driving home from work when the incident occurred.

Police may also add felony hit and run charges to the case.

Wilkins is set to appear before a judge on Tuesday.
