Report: 'Obamacare' will lead to skyrocketing premiums, as high as 200 Percent Possible

Health care reform 'breaks its core promise' to make healthcare coverage affordable

Three congressional committees, after months of exhaustive research have yielded startling news about the dire effects of health care reform, aka "Obamacare." U.S. President Barack Obama's signature legislation could increase health insurance premiums by over 200 percent -- rendering insurance coverage unaffordable for millions of Americans, breaking "its core promise" to make healthcare coverage affordable.

The most costly requirements go into effect in 2014. Households earning as much as $46,000 a year will receive no premium assistance, yet will be forced to accept 'unaffordable' premium increases, the report states.

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Entitled "The Price of Obamacare's Broken Promises," the report was prepared by House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Majority Staff; Senate Committee on Finance, Minority Staff and Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, Minority Staff.

"Studies and analyses from the Congressional Budget Office, independent actuaries, state insurance commissioners, health plans, benefit consultants, and others have reached the same conclusion: Obamacare will significantly increase premiums," the congressional report states.

"Some estimates show some Americans facing startling premium increases of 203 percent because of the law.

"Higher healthcare premiums are the last thing single young adults and working families can afford. Yet contrary to what the president promised, that is exactly what Obamacare is projected to do."

The most costly requirements go into effect in 2014. Households earning as much as $46,000 a year will receive no premium assistance, yet will be forced to accept "unaffordable" premium increases, the report states.

The Affordable Care Act will be particularly harsh on young Americans ages 21 to 29, as those with individual coverage will see their healthcare premium rise by an average of 189 percent.

In addition, the healthcare reform bill mandates that individuals pay the same premiums regardless of future anticipated medical expenses, leading to sharply increased premium costs for those under 50.

Obamacare also requires that individuals purchase coverage that includes a range of "essential" health benefits, including coverage for preventive services, chronic disease management, and rehabilitative services. This restricts consumers' choice in the design of their health plans as well as adding to their insurance premiums.

The law imposes $165 billion in new taxes and fees on health plans, drug manufacturers, and device makers, and these costs will be largely passed on to consumers in the form of higher premiums.

One study predicts that Obamacare's health insurance tax will boost premiums by more than $7,000 over ten years.

The shot in the back of America designed by Obama was delivered with a GIANT assist by Chief Justice (denied) John Roberts. His deciding vote was the single act of constitutional tyranny ,whether under duress due to personal threats or a prideful display of ultimate authority to chastise a delusional electorate, in effect gave legal legitimacy to the most corrupt element of domestic political terrorism our country could possibly have elevated to power.

He must be remembered as the one person who could have justifiably at least postponed our economical demise and slowed the progression of socialism so obviously desired by the democratic machine being used by the Obama regime. We will be rehashing the Kennedy assassination forever and debating who fired the shot from where. However, I submit there will be no doubt from here on out as to who it was who fired the fatal "shot in the back" of American constitutional justice allowing Barrack Hussein Obama to saddle his horse and sound the charge for his Marxist bureaucracy to diminish our once proud nation to a third world dictatorship with him as the supreme ruler.
Justice Roberts, after listening to the Obama team arguing for months their health care scheme penalties were NOT a tax in order to sell the program to the public, for some still unbelievable reason single handedly, knowing what the ramifications of a single payer system which Obama stated he wanted to eventually accomplish for his socialist transformation of America would do to the country, chose not to simply judge the case on those merits and thus allow for further debate on how to fix the system without a government taking over but rather to become an advocate for the president advising his lawyers the heavy fines within the AHA on individuals and companies should actually be considered a tax in order to make the bill legally constitutional.
All those democratic Catholic politicians in Congress and those with key positions within the Obama administration who blindly marched lockstep with his socialist agenda could have been stopped in their tracks by a single vote on the part of John Roberts who we had considered a conservative Catholic up until that time.
This is Passion week and we are reminded once again of how even among the chosen there can be a Judas.

This article is misleading. Health premiums of young people will rise because more of them will be covered and have to contribute. When you go from paying nothing, to having health care and paying for it, that is a substantial increase in your health care costs. Duh!.

Furthermore, the CBO has scored the plan as saving money over 10 years, with a loss in the start up years, and then savings in the later years and out. All of this fear and hate mongering is counter productive. As a Christian, I support Obama Care and the health care it provides for millions of more Americans.

Finally, the rate of health care premium increases as actually been less in the past four years than in years prior.

I know people whose health premiums are about to double. Everyone was warned about what was to come if Obamacare didn't get over turned. Now we are all suffering the consequences.

The "Affordable" Care Act was never intended to make health care affordable, but it is having the intended effect - i.e., ending all private health insurance and ultimately forcing everyone to accept government control over their health care. It was obvious that this was the intended goal to anyone with half a brain cell when it was first rammed down the throat of America by the radical, out-of-control Democrat majorities in Obama's first 2 years. Government control of everyone's health care is the holy grail to socialists because control of health care means total control of a person's life, resulting in a complete and total dependence of the individual on the government.

Thanks to this complete elimination of individual rights forced on Americans by complicit Democrats, compliant Republicans and 5 freedom-robbing Supreme Court dictators, Americans are stuck with what will be the ever worsening detrimental consequences of government control over their health care and, ultimately, their lives. 200, 300, 400% or more increases in health care premiums are just the initial harbingers of the coming disaster, not the disaster itself - that has yet to drop.

Such a study has no connection with reality because in ten years private health policy premiums will no longer exist. Americans will instead be paying ever increasing confiscatory taxes to fund the government's takeover of their entire existence.

Short of a miracle, full governmental, dictatorial control of everyone's health care will be Obama's lasting legacy. it will bring about his "change" of a once free country into a fully socialist, enslaved country. This is the goal for which he has "hoped" his entire life. Sorry to be a bearer of bad news folks, but the truth hurts, and this is exactly what Obama meant by his "hope and change" mantra in 2008

The deductibles will be astronomical on so called affordable policies. The government simply found another way to make itself richer at the cost of every so-called insured consumer.
