LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - World Cup winner Mikael Kingsbury says that he organized the jump at Mont Saint-Sauveur in Quebec. In order to record and attempt the stunt, Kingsbury and his friends closed down part of a ski slope at Mont Saint-Sauveur in Quebec.

While the stunt hasn't officially been labeled a world record, a YouTube video of the jump has gained lots of views online.

In order to gather the talent for the event, Kingsbury reached out to current and former members of Canada's freestyle skiing team on Facebook. Kingsbury scouted for professionals who were used to doing solo back flips. After building up sufficient interest, he contacted the resort to see if it could build a jump wide enough for the feat.

Twenty-three-year-old Jerome Berneche, one of the participants said that the skiers trained for two hours alone or in small groups.

Although the skiers lifted off the ground at different times, all 30 skiers were still holding hands when they touched the ground.

Victory did not come easily. On the first attempt, the line broke.

"We had problems with the angle of the slope that was steeper on one side than the other, so some people did not have the same speed," Berneche told reporters.

But on the second try, all 30 skiers landed on their feet, hand in hand. "We were pretty stoked," Berneche said. "I don't think anybody really expected it to work that well."
