CHICAGO, IL (Catholic Online) - The young Abraham Lincoln's records include official pay and mileage accounts which show how much he was paid and reimbursed for travel while serving as a member of Congress in 1848.
According to the entries, Lincoln received $2,000 in salary for the period of January - August of 1848 and picked up another check for $1,300 for travel expenses.
