At least one school shooting that didn't happen - Chicago
Police arrest boy with unloaded gun at elementary school.
At least one school shooting didn't happen as a 14-year-old boy brought a school onto an elementary school campus in Chicago. The unidentified boy was taken into police custody without significant incident.
At least one school shooting was avoided when an alert student notified school staff.
School staff found the boy and detained him in a classroom while police made an armed entry into the school around 3 p.m.
Police say the boy initially resisted efforts to search him, and had to be restrained. Police found the pistol in his boot, and it was thankfully unloaded. Police took the boy into custody and he has been cited as a juvenile for unlawful use of a weapon.

"...he has been cited as a juvenile for unlawful use of a weapon. " Huh? doesn't seem like he used a weapon, unlawfully or otherwise.
In any case, It was clearly the threat of an "assault weapon" ban and "large magazine" ban that made this youth surrender without hurting anyone. Think of the havoc he might have wreaked with an unloaded .22 hidden in a boot. Thank God for the clever politicians who always know exactly the right laws to pass to correct each and every problem in our society.
