Thanks alot to my Parents for giving me my 7/25/1943 middle Saint name of "Santiago" (James) !!! It is beautiful to know that he was special to Jesus and was one of the first martyrs of the Church. King Herod Agrippa I killed him with a sword in an early persecution of the Church. Nice to know he is the patron saint of hatmakers, rheumatoid sufferers, and laborers.

Dear St. James, of late I've been interested in the pilgrimage to St. Tiago of Compostella. It seems so real yet I wonder if I'll be able to make it. Walking the distance is doubtful...but still I'd like to see your tombstone and your burial place and the cathedral that stands there in your honour. St. James you are remembered in Spain as a warrior, soldier who fought the onslaught of Muslim attack on Catholic Spain. Likewise fight a big, unseen, and subtle war that is made on the Catholic Church in my beloved country. You do battle for us dear St. James, for all polemics are based on lies and meant to create suspicion. Protect all Catholics from the terrible scourge of marrying a Muslim spouse as this means a forced conversion. Pray for my grandson too. Heal him completely of the scourge of fragile X, of epilyptic fits, ear infection etc. and all the pervasive developmental delays. May he learn, progress and flourish. Amen

But our church in our place has a special place in hearts of our people.
All people from all religion and caste worship with great feeling of unity.
In our family and in whole of our village , locality and our whole Island We traditionally worship St.James.
The church here has history dating to about 800 years built by Portuguese explorers.
Later rebuilt several times.
St.James the Great is known for the miracles and the people flood here all round the year to his church.
Every year 16th July The Novena starts with flag hoisting and on the 25th July festival will be celebrated in a very grand manner with his statue on the procession.

This was somewhat helpful, but it did not use very good wording. I did not understand part of some paragraphs, but overall, it was okay. Good for writing reports.
I have been praying a lot lately asking God to comfort me during this trying time I am having. It was early saturday morning. I was laying in bed awake but with my eyes closed. I had a quick vision of something I wasn't sure of. A voice of a man I'd never heard before said, "This is your faith... You will see... I am sorry." I got out of bed and thought about what just happened to me. I looked on the internet to find out what a saint is and what they look like. Sure enough, I believe the vision I had was a saint giving me a message of hope.
This is my favorite Saint because James is the name of one of my x boyfriends. He was the GREATest ever! even more GREAT then St. James the GREATest apostle. Sorry to break it to you saint James the GREATer because my James is the GREATest<3
