St. Peter, First Pope Comments
Simon Peter or Cephas, the first pope, Prince of the Apostles, and founder, with St. Paul, of the see of Rome. Peter was a native of Bethsaida, near Lake Tiberias, the son of John, and worked, like his brother St. Andrew, as a fisherman on Lake Genesareth. Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus, and Christ called Peter to become adisciple. In Luke is recounted the story that Peter caught so large an amount of fish that he fell down before the feet of ... Pray for me us Saint Peter in Heaven to have strength to do Lord's works.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
I, too, ysreal, read in the Bible that no one man is ever to be lifted up as greater or having more authority over other people. The Word made it possible for each of us to have a personal relationship with God and to pray and trust in Him, only. And also, He tells us no to do rituals and repetitive prayers. He wants our sincere and loving responses --this is what I read in the Bible. If we don't listen to all of it, why bother with some of it???
Thanks I have a lot of many things about St. Peter.
I try to read this series about the saints as often as I can. This particular referral to the life of St. Peter as an apostle has been very fruitful indeed. Has this been helpful? It has been a continuance of those facts which enhance my faith, and that is enough. Though I have so much more to learn, St. Peter has been one to whom I pray most every day as I say the rosary. Thank you so much for this special article.

Is there any information on the descendants of St-Peter?
Apostle Peter was not a Pope. He is just an apostle. if he was a pope, when was the time was that he was declared as a Pope? is there any record that he declared linus as the next pope? its not biblical! you cannot find any verse in the Bible speaking about pope. you just misinterpret Matt.16:18. Jesus says in Matthew 23:9 Call no man your father upon earth. Another honorary title. The scribes delighted to be called Abba, father. So the priests of the Roman Catholic Church. So do all who welcome such honorary titles as Pope, Rev. Right Rev. Lord Bishop, etc. These are all forbidden. No apostle was ever so called.
The Jewish rabbis were also called father and master, by their several disciples, whom they required, To believe implicitly what they affirmed, without asking any farther reason; To obey implicitly what they enjoined, without seeking farther authority. Our Lord, therefore, by forbidding us either to give or receive the title of rabbi, master, or father, forbids us either to receive any such reverence, or to pay any such to any but God.
this is very clear statement. this is "Blasphemy" to our God the only "FATHER".
that was great
Thank You for caring enough to keep the church's of st peter life in our hearts
