My dad isn't catholic and just a few days ago he said he never will be Catholic and he wants me to respect that. how am I supposed to be able to respect that I am with him every other weekend wich means I don't go to mass every other Sunday, wich is a grave sin. my mom just tells me to pray to St. Monica and St. Augustine. I've been praying for him for about a year now and I feel like it's pointless because he still refuses to go to mass. I do things like asking him to help me on a saint project, pray with me before meals... stuff like that.
I became Catholic 4 years ago this Easter.
Converting, literally saved my life & my wretched soul.

I'm doing a report on St. Augustine too!!! But I don't know when he was born, died or what he did to become a saint. Other than that this site is great!
For all of those interested in reading about St. Augustine, I suggest you strongly pursue this. I have found his writings to be truly refreshing and challenging. The writing I would start on is his "Confessions". It can be difficult to read at times, but believe me, it is well worth it. He is truly enlightened and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
is the year 430 at the top of this page the year of his canonization or what? if not when was it?
