In 1596, he went to the University of Toulouse for theological studies, and there he was ... Continue Reading

I just sent this post to a bunch of my friends as I agree with most of what you’re saying here and the way you’ve presented it is awesome.
This info very very brief . It is ok for those who are just getting introduced to the Saint. But I wish there were a few important sayings of the saint , and a few important events in the life of the Saint.
using some for school report.
Very helpful indeed , thanks :}
St. Vincent's feast day was July 19 for as long as I can remember. Why was it changed to Sept 27?
THANKS FOR THE INFO.
Thank you for providing a well written, informative piece about St. Vincent de Paul.
I was unaware that his charitable works extended through the ranks of all socio-economic classes/groups.
What would the good saint Vincent De Paul have thought of the men administering his charity in Limerick, Ireland in the 1940's? Read the book "Angela's Ashes" by Frank Mc Court or rent the movie of the same name. I have a feeling St. Vincent De Paul would not have been pleased.
One of my favorite directives by a saint is from St. Vincent de Paul:
"Strive to live content in the midst of those things that
cause your discontent. Free your mind from all that
troubles you, God will take care of things. You will be
unable to make haste in this [choice] without, so to
speak, grieving the heart of God, because he sees that
you do not honor him sufficiently with holy trust. Trust in
him, I beg you, and you will have the fulfillment of what
your heart desires" (St. Vincent de Paul, Letters).
sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo helpfull
