St. Bernadette Comments
On April 16, 1879, Bernadette -- or Sister Marie-Bernard, as she was known within her order -- died in the Sainte Croix (Holy Cross) Infirmary of the Convent of Saint-Gildard. She was thirty-five. Born into a humble family which little by little fell into extreme poverty, Bernadette had always been a frail child. Quite young, she had already suffered from digestive trouble, then after having just escaped being a victim of the cholera epidemic ... Continue Reading

St. Bernadette is very special to me. I was in Lourdes last September and I was touched in so many ways praying to the Blessed Virgin Mary and went to Nevers and saw St. Bernadette's body. It is a trip I will carry in my heart always.
Dear St. Bernadette, please pray for me to lead a life, that is pleasing to God. Thank you.
St Bernadette please pray for my unborn baby boy Matthew who has a heart condition, please ask God to help you to heal his little heart making the left side grow strong and healthy. Please pray for us. We Love You
St. Bernadette, please pray for me.
I read the page on St. Bernadette with much love, interest and longing. Your ill-health did not deter you from going out to meet Our beloved Mother at the grotto. Your absolute faith in her was enough for you to eat the mud, the herbs and drink of the muddy water. Your simplicity and humility were the reasons for our Lady choosing you to give you her divine message of prayer and penitence. You of all people who suffered ill-health has become the symbol of the health at the waters of Lourdes. Dear St. Bernadette, give a permanent cure for all children who are born with developmental delay, mental retardation, epileptic fits, ear infections, constipation, speech delays, lack of reasoning etc. What a multitude of health difficulties! What terrible afflictions! Can they ever receive Holy Communion, and be Confirmed? How do they learn? Their brain confuses them and torments them. St Bernadette, please find a permanent cure for these suffering children. They do no deserve such torment. On your feast day please appeal, implore and beseech Mother Mary to give these suffering children a miraculous cure. Amen.
I love her so much.
St Bernadette please pray for my wife illness
I am in 4th grade and found this website very helpful for a report I am doing on Saint Bernadette. She was a great example to everyone.
Since childhood the Blessed Virgin has been a source of strength and my most trusted confidant. I remember sitting through the movie of the story of Bernadette as a child in Catholic school. It was a big event where the whole school watched segments of the movie over a period of days. I am now in my 60's and am amazed at how I learn more about her almost daily. Our Holy Mother has, as would any loving mother, kept in contact with us through visits around the world and over the course of many years, even centuries. I would so love to visit one of the many sights she has appeared to pay my respects, and yet, I know that all I need do is speak and she hears me and greatly comforts me. I wish for all to know such comfort as she brings me and has brought to so many others. We need to pay attention to her messages. Now. Holy Mary, Mother of God, Pray for us sinners.
This website is very helpful. my confirmation is tomorrow and my mom made me look her up on the internet. but this is actually awesomely interesting i knew a little about her from going to a catholic school, but now i know more :)
this is a great site with tons of information on the wonderful and humble St. Bernadette. I am going to choose her for my confirmation saint. I always knew that she would be my confirmation saint since I read about her in a saint book I got for my First Communion. I was fascinated by her visits from the Virgin Mary and wondered how she could be so humble. I think that she was an amazing person and that she deserved to live a longer life, but at least we know that she is in heaven with God!
I watched the movie on 8/12,It was very good and yes I do believe that if God has giving you a gift you would not take money for it.I have this movie on VHS..I have to see this again
The movie starring Jennifer Jones showed tonight. I have now seen it 5 times and each time I cry and pray a lot. It makes me wonder if I could possibly know someone today, that will one day be considered a saint. I know it's not me but could I still be blessed in knowing someone that special in the eyes of God, Jesus and Mary? Hope is such a marvelous thing!
I pray to St. Bernadette to help heal my husband from his brain injury. When he first became ill I seriously considered going to Lourdes but didn't get the chance to go. Please pray for him. Please also include my friend Wendy's family. Her daughter Hannah entered as a postulate and has renewed-- she was renamed Sr. Bernadette. I do not think this is a coincidence.
St Bernadette-pray to the Blessed Virgin Mary for my brother and his vocation. That the girl he has chosen be according to the will of God for him.
