    Deacon Fournier, excellent article and well articulated. This article is going to cause the heads of Marxist and Fascist readers to spin. Death and perversion are their sacred holy sacraments which is diametrically opposed to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit and their Holy Catholic Church. Wonderful article.

    do you believe in natural law?
    do you believe abortion was on the mind of Mother Teresa and soon to be Saint John Paul II?

    do you believe that it was on the mind of one of the architects of the Constitution and the Declaration that human life, even within the womb was to be protected? do you believe at the time abortion was a heinous crime in common parlance? Do you believe the founders studied the old law books almost as well as their bibles, or at least knew of them?

    Do you believe that MLK knew that the recognition of the human person in one is inextricably linked to that of another? He appealed to natural moral law to unify people against the evil?

    do you believe there was a comparison to slaves and the unborn, because at the time of slavery , the unborn had more recognition that that of a slave, and at that time there was an awakening of the link of this harmful practice to all of society?

    sounding the trumpet on the atrocity of abortion, the greatest obstacle to true peace, Mother Teresa called our government out on the carpet for, is preaching the Gospel. In the image of God we were created. When you deny these little ones, you deny Christ. Why get so down on pro life pronouncements? open your eyes! nobody's sayin to forget about everything else, but the killing of these innocents cannot be denied as evil. Would you deny the abolitionist?

    thou shalt not kill-the truth of the Gospel. "Faith without truth does not save. It does not provide a sure footing..." let's not "deceive ourselves". In love, we are also called to give testimony to the truth.

    darkI think that we should put all of our assets into receivership. Every federal building, federal lands, national parks and accounts. These things do not belong to a select few. They are our property! our children's inheritance. Badly mismanaged and trillions of dollars in debt, any other lender would be foreclosing on property due to the rampant mismanagement, yet we who hold the mortgage on this property go on allowing those with the checkbook to keep "swiping the debit card ". Couldn't a few property *owners * from each state file suit to place this in receivership? Is it an option? Any attorneys out there who could offer some insight? I'll start the ball rolling with a retainer. Anyone? In the meantime ......second child coming in February. Don't lose hope, there are those of us out here dedicated to joyfully welcoming children into our lives knowing that they are precious, wonderful gifts :)">

    I do not understand why we are supposed to disregard the significance/importance of the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence by the Founding Fathers of our Country--as if they didn't mean what they said in so solemn an Introduction to a Founding Document of our Nation....? (At the same time, and rightly, they did not establish a national religion, out of respect for the individual consciences of the citizenry.) In addition, even today, as Christians, as Catholics, we have mistakenly thought that speaking of the tenants of the Gospel and the Bible was only for the bishops and clergy (even though they have encouraged us to speak up), so we let the Supreme Court dare to create a law such as Roe v. Wade and, recently, our President disregard (and then the Supreme Court overturn) DOMA.... Both "decisions" are totally contrary to the Natural Law. Re. this, I do not agree with the "new idea" being promoted….that the Natural Law has lost validity for modern man.... For this, we, the people, have no one to blame but ourselves for our failure to speak up--"in season and out of season."....No doubt about it, apart from grace, the human mind tends to be clouded and the will weak, but the Natural Law (despite original sin) is still apparent to anyone who has half-ways honest "eyes" to see, for most Americans who still do acknowledge that God exists....Indeed, too many Americans--I dare say the majority, really still do know better "inside;" and so, it is time for those who are "not ashamed of the Gospel..." to "wake up" and "speak up" with LOVE re. these "sins" of our nation!

    I am reminded today, what politicans have done to contribute to a perpetual deterioration in the standards all children must face, due to being in the follow of a coin and not God.
    There is not a moment after Politicians raised their hands , made a solemn declaration, invoking a deity or a sacred person or thing, in confirmation of and witness to the honesty or truth of such a declaration into office and got away with not being moral. God exits.

    Deacon Keith...you present the myth so very well. But let's face facts. The Declaration of Independence was ultimately a covenant not with the Creator but with Liberty personified. We were never a godly republic but always, always purely secular. Remember, the Revolution was not just about independence, but also about establishing a new order...or as our currency states...a novus ordo saeculorum. The old order, which was the Christian order, was abolished by our founders. Thus, the USA is the first, purely secular nation ever founded where the true religion has absolutely no public authority in governing or influencing policy. Religion is purely a private affair. The goddess of liberty that approves all our decisions as a nation sits enthroned on the West facade of the supreme court building, while in the corner of that famous pediment lies the left overs of past ages, namely, a papal tiara, a crosier, and a crown of a king. George Washington, in full masonic garb, "consecrated" the cornerstone of the capitol building in 1793, while the White House received many masonic stones as part of its foundation. Freemasonry is the very church of the enlightenment and liberalism whose sole goal is to destroy the old order of Christ's Kingship and replace it with the cult of man. Our nation has this as its foundation. For now, the New secular order has won, but its life will be short lived.

    Be warned, therefore, for when a state rejects Christ's Kingship over it, there is no basis for its authority and no reason to obey the state that rejects God, the source of all authority. Freedom, then, is lost as the state must force its agenda upon a public that doesn't obey it out of virtue, but rather out of fear. The days of this nation are numbered and the handwriting is on the wall. The only hope we have is a nation wide conversion and a public acknowledgement that Christ is Lord and King and that His Holy Church is the very soul of society giving life to the body politic.

    Jefferson's words remind me of those spoken by Pope Jon Paul II. He said true freedom means not doing whatever we want, but choosing to do that which we ought to do.

    I see the real obstacles of our society behaving as God wants us to coming from inside the "Church". I refer to those who identify themselves as Catholics or other Christians who support things like abortion and same-sex "marriage". Re: the latter issue, I repeat what I have written in many Catholic forums (words which have resulted in my "blacklisting" by one Catholic site). If we accept legal and societal sanctioning of homosexuality, including same-sex "marriage", we must also accept all forms of voluntary conduct by adults...fornication, prostitution, adultery, polygamy, group or "open" marriage and incest. The adults who engage in these acts do not not feel like doing them. They feel like doing them. If we are going to brainwash children from an early age that same-sex "marriage" is so glorious, we should also brainwash them into accepting the other sins I mentioned as being true, glorious and blessed by God. So whatever we feel like doing is good because those feelings had to come from God.

    I recall St Paul's words that we are not to shut ourselves off from people who do evil because we would then have to shut ourselves off from the world. He then told us to avoid contact with so-called "Christians" who do these things or encourage others to do them. He said we are not even to eat with such people.

    St Paul, pray for us.

    Because America used to acknowledge a natural moral law,people from other oppressed countries wanted to find a just form of existence that a moral America used to assure them. Today it is not so. Special interests govern America so justice has given way to an oppressive new form of government that would make everyone a penalty/tax slave. Morality is not wanted in such an oppressive society that worships a culture of death that would make a medical procedure such as abortion a woman's right. Why do not men in such a society get a penalty tax for impregnating any woman out of wedlock? Because the new America has made Marriage and a mans commitment to a woman and a child a joke. Anyone can really now marry any BODY. With no natural moral law,than there is no America anymore. Immigrants my advice would be Stay Away,go find some other country. America must come to its senses as it has lost its common sense as well as its sense of the natural moral law. There is no justice anymore just licence and an alternate sense of common sense.

    Do you think abortion was on the minds of those who signed the Declaration of Independence? They certainly did not consider all men [women] to be equal.

    When one makes abortion the center of the struggle as a Christian is that being faithful to the Gospel? Is not the center of the Christian life Christ who proclaims the Reign of God in which all creation is called to fulfillment? Is not the central Christian witness to the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Christ?

    To say the Natural Law is self evident does not make it self evident. Many reasonable good people do not accept that the natural law is self evident. So if one is to argue from that premise, it would seem necessary to engage in dialogue with those who do not accept natural law as self evident and find common ground.

    Ultimately for the disciple of Christ it is not the philosophical arguments for or against the natural law that lead to a holy life, it is living as Christ. How the Christian lives is the witness that leads to conversion; conversion not a one time "I am saved" but an on going pilgrimage that requires constant repentance. Frances, Bishop of Rome, is calling us to be true disciples of Christ and live out the whole Gospel which is not centered in any one issue but in proclaiming the reign of God for all creation.

    Liberty is off the Spirit. Constraints of the flesh is to its Liberty. Whereas the liberty of the flesh is to constrain the Spirit, the false liberty widely seen today coming through even the Law which is but to say 'By its Leavens". Zechariah Ch. 5 is to its Prophecy. The Leavens to Placate the Wickedness, the false covenant.
