The Fool Says, 'There is no God' : Stephen Hawking, M-Theory and Creation Comments

The Genesis account ascribes manifestation of this incomprehensibly complex and precisely honed universe to a benevolent, omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient God who transcends time and space. This is, as it goes, the only way to account for a universe teeming with evidence of design, painstakingly engineered and clearly crafted by a superior intelligence that far exceeds man's finite ability to comprehend. I don't see why either the Big Bang theory or Hawking's M-theory, if true, would show that God doesn't exist or that He didn't create everything. Whether one or many universes exist, only one or some of which support life, is immaterial, I think. The fact still remains that even multiple universes started somewhere, somehow - from nothing. The scientists who just can't admit to the existence of God have a real problem - to which I don't see any real solution.

Listen, the existence of God comes down to a very simple concept: faith. If taken from that perspective even the question of is there evidence of His existence to strengthen our faith has answers. Conception, birth, miracles (events for which there is no scientific explanation for it), the exactness, preciseness, and perfection of all that exists. Once you get there; the state of faith, it all becomes quite simple.

Catholic Online, why do you continue to post such pro-evolution pieces such as this? A little balance from a Traditional one would be greatly appreciated. Check out the Kolbe Center for the Study of Creation

Sorry, Mr. Barber, the Big Bang Theory, does not blow atheism away. Let's investigate what Fr. Georges Lematrie, the author of this ridiculous theory, actually said. This evolution supporting priest once said, “As far as I can see, such a theory remains entirely outside any metaphysical or religious question. It leaves the materialist free to deny any transcendental Being… For the believer, it removes any attempt at familiarity with God." In short, the Big Bang Theory isn't the answer according to Lematrie.

In fact, the theory is just evolution in the heavens. The theory deserves nothing but ridicule and contempt from any true Catholic. Explosions are creative? Ask the people of Hiroshima about that...please. They posit this ridiculous theory for the sake of explaining an expanding universe. But there is no proof of an expanding universe. The so called Red Shift in the spectrum can be explained in many other different ways.

Theories like the Big Bang and Evolution treat God as if He were a man needing to start from some little thing and then build up something big. With God, He simply makes things perfect and and at once. Mr. Barber should check out Vatican I where it clearly states that God created all things, corporal and spiritual, according to their species, at once in the beginning.

Why bow to pseudo science when it is so ridiculous. Go with the Church Fathers and Tradition not with the fools of atheism and theistic evolution.

It's east to discredit so-called scientists who don't believe in God.

Whenever they say that everything started with something, you can always ask them, well how did that come into existence?

The real answer is always God.

All complexities are fulfilled in the simplicity, the simplicity of the Spirit which decleareth The God come through the Faith in Christ Jesus .To this, people like Hawking still in their complexities to the complicities are unable to recognize the existence of God in all their Doctorates & Phd's & hence to conclusions like "The Fox & the Sour grapes", to distract thus misinterpret the wholeness of the truth, but to be able to say i am god(replacing god), knowing not how one is born neither knowing how one dies, what god is this ? lest the one be like Herod Agrippa who in his seat spoke as god, to the angel of God slaying him, through worms eating him away from the inside to die a living death..

In fact the concept of God and creation are way beyond our capacity to truly understand either. It is futility. It is like an ant standing a top his ant hill trying to explain what the whole world looks like,as well as how it came into existence. If I were to believe Hawkings exclusively I would have to argue that humankind is actually no better than some form of a human virus that is slowly but surely destroying this planet earth. Humankind must hope upon hope that the elite of the race might escape earth to find some other poor habitable planet to destroy ultimately. Hawkins theories point to a mindless sense of nature that became mindful of it own mindlessness,so that it can claim that any sense of intelligent creation that suggests a Divine mindfulness,is a condemned politically correct sense of nonsense. Atheists believe nonsense created the universe and that nonsense claims an ordered kind of science that can explain all this nonsense as sensible. Life and creation in truth is a joke! Relax! Eat,drink and be merry because tomorrow we could simply die. Enjoy life do not worry that there is intelligence or a Divine Mind, mindful of all that it has created. A teapot to boil water in just sprung out of creation on its own,so the water is hot the tea is poured enjoy! Tea Time! Without God mankind is a dumb unreasonable fool.

Hawkins is a scientist. It's his job to prove his theory. And when I say theory, it is a clear misuse of terms defined by the scientific method, as there is no evidence of multiple universes. So a working hypothesis (an idea there is no dat to support and which dat is being gathered to determine if a valid hypothesis can be made from) is more accurate.
Bt this is why experiment lists like myself always take theoreticians with a grain..or handful of salt. They don't require or even want experimental data to confuse or complicate their ideas. It's too ugly to try and integrate results into their ideas. Note how I'm note using words like theory, which is on,y arrived at then a great deal of physical data support a unifying idea...a theory. Which if this is proven time and time agin and cannot be disproven, we call it. Law.
Adorable tht the arrogant narcissist. Worshipped by his followers decides he is a deity worthy or writing laws of nature. Most of us scientists read his and others work as very entertaining. Yes, I like the stuff he writes. I fess up. Bt I don't think he understands God simply because he is good at math. I am a good chemist, but I still avoid fixing my own car.

These discussions bring to mind some statements from C.S. Lewis (also a brilliant minded man) :

The first : " There are two kinds of people in the end. Those who say to God, "Thy will be done " and those to whom God says, in the end, "Thy will be done. "

Second : A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word "darkness" on the walls of his cell.
