I for one am not terribly concerned. We are in struggle that will last until the end of time. Jesus promised He'd be with us until that time. And He sent His Advocate. So what are we concerned about ... setbacks? We know how it ends.

I don't know why this continues to baffle me, even after years of reading about "progressive Catholics", but it does. Why do people feel the need to have God conform to their desires and thoughts of what is "right"? Our Church is in the world but NOT of the world! I happen to believe it is better to have a small, faithful, God loving, God fearing Church, than be a billion strong but not truly united in Christ. May the Holy Spirit guide the Cardinals and may our new Pope be truly a man who reflect Christ in what he does, what he says and what he teaches us.

Dear Catholics. Wake up. You are the target of a constant negative PR campaign by powerful leftist groups who use smear tactics to intimidate the Church into changing her teaching. The nonstop reporting on "scandal" is media-made and media-driven, and for a political purpose: to bully Christianity into changing its stance on gay marriage, on female priests, on abortion, and on sexual ethics. The Catholic Church and her teaching are enemy No.1 to the Marxists, and the sooner you realize you are being unfairly targeted and smeared the sooner you can fight back and refuse to accept their premises and demands. Ever notice that *all* these "scandal" reports talk about the "need" for the Church to change its teachings? It's all about the TEACHINGS and about the influence the Church has in spreading traditional morality. The modernists and progressives *hate* traditional morality and they understand that the Catholic Church is the No.1 institution on the planet that transmits and preserves traditional Judeo-Christian ethics and values.

Agree! No Catholic should even be listening to mainstream media right now in regards to the Conclave, and yes our next pope must be strong enough in his faith to bring order back to the Church and Christianity. We have to fight strong against the growing secularism of the West.

The media should know by now that the Catholic Church is not a democratic organization, Hoping for women priests, more married priests, acceptance of contraceptance, same sex marriage, end to abortion activism, etc will never happen These are God's laws and the Pope cannot change these laws.
