The anti-Catholic regime of 1920's Mexico tried to stamp out Catholicism. The armed people rose up against the federal government to defend their religious liberties. The government could have easily gotten away with it if the people had no arms. Our 2nd Amendment to the Constitution is to prevent tyranny in the United States. What makes us think that our own government won't infringe on our Constitution rights?

The point is, democracy was a tool in the hands of a tyrant who used a crisis to take rights away from people. People were put in camps just on a suspicion or because of a group they belong to. Democracy is no guarantee for the protection of peoples. We are living through a holocaust of a different kind now in America to prove it. you only are only human if you are wanted.

Sure, Glen... Peter carried... and he hid it... and when he actually drew it in defense, Jesus stopped him, rebuuked him and told him clearly that he was not to try to save life by violence. And, you've dodged the pertinent questions: what kind of weapon would Jesus carry, and how can anyone claim to be "pro life" and still want a gun in the house?
Cant believe what I'm reading in the name of the Catholic Religion, trying to justify the NRA stance. It makes me sick to use the death of innocent children to justify carrying arms at will and wherever and whenever, do you all carry blinders on your eyes.? Cant handle reading this site, my bloodpressure went up about 30 points, wake up Catholics you are being systematically brainwashed by self interest groups that couldnt care less about the Catholic religion. Remember when "they" used religion to justify owning, buying and selling and abusing SLAVES? Please rethink your position.

If two hulk hogan sized criminals attack a 120 mother with three children will she be able to defend them with hand to hand combat without a gun ?.

Catechism of the Catholic Church - Legitimate defense 2263 The legitimate defense of persons and societies is not an exception to the prohibition against the murder of the innocent that constitutes intentional killing. “The act of self-defense can have a double effect: the preservation of one’s own life; and the killing of the aggressor.... The one is intended, the other is not.”
2265 Legitimate defense can be not only a right but a grave duty for one who is responsible for the lives of others. The defense of the common good requires that an unjust aggressor be rendered unable to cause harm. For this reason, those who legitimately hold authority also have the right to use arms to repel aggressors against the civil community entrusted to their responsibility.
and the American government under Obama is living by the sword, handing it even, to violent criminals in Mexico, all while promoting and condoning war on the poorest of the poor, our chidren. A sword has been pierced into the heart of America by this misprision of treason, treason of the nature of man. We turn away from these most natural and common bonds that hold us together.We cut the cord. Daddy government gonna save us all.
