Thank you, Deal, for this article. We ought to be prepared to expose the lies and, in in the way we can save the instrument (in this case the supposedly Catholic for Obama lobbyist), so be it. God is good.
I am not in the US, but that does not mean that I don't receive the equivalent phone calls from lobbyists of all kinds.
It reminds me of the instruction Jesus gave his disciples in Matthew 10:16 before he sent them to share the Good News: "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves."
We do have to be prepared and know our Bible, know our Catechism, and let the Holy Spirit guide us. On our own we are nothing, but with God everything is possible.

Very difficult times are coming ahead. We need to pray constantly. Time has come that the children of God be manifest. There are going to be many trials and now is the time to stand on the Rock of our Salvation. Like the song says, "there's power in the blood of the Lamb".
Now more than ever we must keep praying for Mercy and discernment, for wisdom and strength. And for God's Word to be manifest in our lips, when facing the lies.

I don't understand where the practicing Catholic Obama supporter is coming from. How can she believe what she is saying about abortion and Planned Parenthood? To believe she must close her eyes and put her fingers in her ears most of the time(including the Democratic Convention).If she knows the truth and still believes why lie? She is free to give her opinion and support who she will, why must she lie and distort to get others to vote as she wishes. She is willing to con and deceive those foolish enough to trust her words. She is a wolf in sheep's clothing running with her pack and scattering the flock.

I think it would be a good idea to print this and use it as our response script. Hopefully the person you are talking with is really listening. Otherwise let the phone ring and dont answer - there's a reason why answering machines and voice mail was invented.
