Obama administration unforgiving, immoral - man fired for 10 cent mistake
Man lost job over 10 cent mistake made in 1963.
A Wells Fargo Home Mortgage worker has been fired for a trivial offense he committed in 1963. Despite nearly concluding an honest decades-long career in banking and finance, Richard Eggers, 68, was fired in July from his job for using a cardboard dime in a washing machine in 1963.
Foolishness over a dime in 1963 has cost an Iowa man his 50-year career thanks to Obama administration's unforgiving regulations.
The alarming approach is the result of applying actuary accounting methods to government policies and law.
In Egger's case, new banking regulations mandated that banks must fire any employees who have been convicted of even minor crimes including breach of trust and transactional crimes, on the fear they could perpetuate more. Banks, worried about strict FDIC crackdowns and steep fines, have ruthlessly enforced the regulations. Granted, these rules were intended, and sold to the public as a means of cleaning up the financial sector of bad actors, particularly corrupt CEO's and managers who had a record of dishonesty.
However, stated intention is diverging from reality.
These draconian measures matter. The approach that is taken to banks will soon become the norm as it is applied to healthcare and other government practices. Imagine now, the application of government actuary accounting to your medical treatment. Imagine being denied a life-saving operation because government actuaries have deemed you too great a risk to be worth the cost.
The cause of this is twofold. First, fiscal crisis has the government looking everywhere it can to squeeze money from taxpayers, while reducing what is paid out in certain sectors. This leaves the government free to spend funds elsewhere where the money could produce more politically favorable results.
The second cause is more fundamental. There is a particular disregard, especially in the Obama administration, for basic human principles. This is evident in the administration's approach to issues of life, freedom of religion and conscience, and law.
Specifically in Egger's case, Obama's new banking policy does not forgive, nor forget. That's how a man can be fired from an honest career of 50 years for a trivial infraction he committed in his youth.
Imagine the nightmare as such methods are applied by a lame-duck president across the board to healthcare and other industries.
Not every decision should be based on statistics. Morals should inform decisions too. Eggers spent two days in jail to pay for his shenanigan. Morally, he has paid for his crime and deserves the forgiveness of society. Unfortunately for Eggers, and many more to come, morality is not a factor in Obama's brave new world of government policy.

An excellent example of what happens under a government and positive law (manmade) justice system that treats people as things and statistics instead of human beings. Top heavy governments and bureaucracies, especially those to the left, almost always need to use coercion and force, the power of the police state, and make denigrating abuses to the human spirit to enforce their power and influence on the citizenry. They preach equality, justice, fairness, taking care of the little guy. Are they living a humble, simple, lifestyle on their own income? No. These government and bureaucratic types, so called 'taking care of the little guy' hypocrites, live off of the public purse while telling the rest of us how to live. And to keep themselves in power and enforce all their so called benevolent altruistic goodness for the citizenry, they often need to use force and the power of the police state to shove all their goodness down our throats. If they are so good, what are they doing in politics? Why not become a missionary in far flung lands and work for free? If socialists are so selfless, do they not turn red in the face with embarrassment each time they collect their paychecks coming from tax payers? Why do they not give themselves a huge pay cut? I mean, after all, are they not preaching selflessness and helping out the little guy? Why don't the politicians, bureaucrats, and union bosses freely suggest they ought to be leading by example (as true leaders do) and start by cutting their own salaries? Heck, even work for nothing since they claim to be such selfless saints! You hypocrites! If your country SINKS it is YOUR fault for being naive and ignorant! No wonder Socrates was poisoned. No wonder many saints were martyred. No wonder Nelson Mandela ended up in jail. No wonder Gandhi was shot. Power and money love keeping the status quo, since the status quo suits their SELFISH egotistical ends using means (the people and the system) to push through all their plans. When will people realize that campaigning as it exists presently ought to be outlawed? It brings forth great peacocks. It brings forth showboats. It brings forth salesmen. Campaigning and governing are identical or somewhat different in nature? What kind of a stupid system hassles a man over a few pennies years ago! By the way, I live in Asia. On some levels, America has become more pathetic than certain other countries. Why? Many have become corrupt, forgetting their history and roots. The American dream? The American dream was not only about big government, large bureaucracies, a police state, enforcing positive law. (except for perhaps those in big government, bureaucrats, tyrants, and corrupt justices and lawyers) Maybe the American dream for a mobster is to have the freedom to be a mobster? Perhaps the American dream for a corrupt Wall Street snake is to have the freedom to be a corrupt snake? Perhaps the American dream of a drug addict and baffoon is to be a drug addict and baffoon? What is the American dream these days? Empty words? Nice sounding platitudes? Will someone define it, succinctly and precisely, to then offer several logical potential ends that might grow out of that definition which could offer insights as to how it might affect today's (and tomorrow's) reality? Equality and fairness? You will find it in HEAVEN! And usually those preaching equality are not your equals, since your taxes are paying them to rule over you! What kind of a naive fool would believe that the government can produce equality? Are eagles and chickens equal? Are lions and goats equal? Are cats and mice equal? Yes, the little guy needs to be protected and helped. Those promising to help and protect the little guy are usually self serving types who have long forgotten about the little guy. There may be a few saints inside politics, bureaucracies, and unions. How many? May each one make up his own mind as to how many saints you think and feel exist in politics, bureaucracies, and unions. Next, how many do you think will be recognized, beatified, and eventually canonized? They must be GREAT politcians, bureaucrats, and union leaders if they are to end up eventually recognized, beatified, and canonized! My goodness, the Vatican will be searching for needles inside a haystack if they are to try finding saints inside politics! What an arduous painful mission that would be! Practically almost impossible. Easier to put a man on the moon!
