LOS ANGELES, CA (California Network) - More smut garbage is on the way, so Catholics should beware. Paul Verhoeven, the director of films such as "Basic Instinct" and "Elle," is making another smut film intended to desecrate the faith called "Blessed Virgin."
In this movie, a nun with mystical powers begins a sexual relationship with a sister nun. The story is somehow loosely based on the visions of a 17th-century nun, Benedetta Carlini. The movie is an adaptation of, "Immodest Acts -- The Life of a Lesbian Nun in Renaissance Italy," by Judith Brown.
Needless to say, the film is intended to normalize homosexual behavior, particularly within the context of religious life. Anyone who is genuinely religious knows such behavior is considered disordered and immoral.
There is an obsession among the counterculture to depreciate the Church, the virtue of chastity, and religious life. Such efforts are evil, and Christians ought to be warned not to endorse such work with their patronage.
Smut is smut, regardless if it comes in the form of a glossy magazine, a Hollywood blockbuster, or the written word.
